September 24th, 2009 – KCL completes large-scale MFD implementation in record time
Having won the Southern Railway franchise business was only part of the equation – KCL’s engineers were then tasked with implementing the solution, totalling over 50 multi-function devices throughout the Southern network offices and stations. Working after-hours to avoid interrupting employee’s workdays, KCL staff were able to complete the install on the third day of the new franchise with no impact to employees. Additionally, KCL’s technical team were able to port over all mailboxes and scanning configurations from existing devices before the installation, meaning that all new machines were instantly ready to use after the install, with no further configurations required by the Southern IT department. September 21st, 2009 – KCL chosen as single provider for new Southern Railway franchise
Southern Railway operates over 2,100 trains each weekday, delivering over 140 million passenger journeys per year with a staff of over 4,000 employees. KCL E-document Solutions were recently chosen as the sole supplier of photocopiers and multi-function devices throughout the organization. The presence of the networked multi-function devices in the organization allow Southern all the basic capabilities of a photocopier and lay the foundation for a unified services approach to document management in the future.
May 4th, 2009 – Go-Ahead Group Procurement has selected KCL for cost-per-print provisioning of network printers throughout the group
Go-Ahead Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of passenger transport services, was intrigued by KCL’s cost-per-print approach to network printing. Instead of the typical approach of purchasing hardware and extended warranties or care-packs, as well as purchasing expensive toner as required, KCL presented Go-Ahead with a cost-saving mechanism that mimics the photocopier approach. By working with Go-Ahead Group personnel to work out average print requirements across the various departments and organizations, KCL were able to put forward a study of actual requirements throughout the company and a proposal for completely serviced equipment.
June 1st, 2008 – Plane Handling Limited launches on-site Unified Services project
Plane Handling Limited specialises in ground and cargo handling for 35 of the top international airlines, including over 20% of cargo handling at London Heathrow, one of the world’s busiest airports. KCL E-document Solutions has implemented a Unified Services project within Plane Handling cargo sheds. Using the Unified Services approach, non-cargo shed personnel throughout Plane Handling now have access to airway bills and required cargo documentation within hours of the flight closure, and in most cases before the aircraft has pushed back from the gate. This ongoing project ensures that the accounting department can begin the billing process immediately and ensures that all records are readily accessible in the future should any queries arise.
