Dnata is a BIFA (British International Freight Association) approved air freight forwarder and trusted partner for over 300 airline customers around the world, operating international air freight at 126 airports in 35 countries worldwide. In the financial year 2019-20 Dnata’s customer-oriented teams handled 681,000 aircraft and moved 2.9 million tonnes of cargo.

The latest expansion at the new state-of-the-art cargo centre at London Heathrow airport (LHR) has made Dnata City East comfortably the UK’s largest commercial aviation hub:

With busy cargo operations working round the clock, it’s imperative for the aviation industry to operate smoothly and efficiently. KCL’s CargoScan solution has helped Dnata develop a business process to do just that.

Our most recent Dnata MFD installation included the very latest Ricoh models configured with KCL’s CargoScan scanning app and fully integrated into KCLCloud. The requirement was for the most durable and reliable print solution in a demanding working environment.

KCL rolled out a seamless upgrade at locations across the Dnata network, including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow.

We worked in a process that would give staff continued access to their printers throughout the upgrade, as well as a seamless transition to the new solution with minimal disruption to the day-to-day running of the business.

Once the upgrade was complete, our technical support had all printers set up and operational to KCL Cloud within 30 minutes, reducing any disruptions to the running of the business.

Our team also provide ongoing support and advice to Dnata on how to reduce waste, improve security and maintain GDPR compliance, as well as remotely monitoring equipment. Dnata is a sustainably-run and technology-driven company, so it was critical that the latest technologies help them advance their agenda. The new fleet coupled with KCL’s CargoScan helps them to achieve their goals.

Dnata’s IT Manager Stephen Archer said: “KCL were extremely helpful from start to finish and went above and beyond to ensure the upgrade had little to no interruption to the operation so we couldn’t be happier.”

We look forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with Dnata, helping them achieve sustainability targets, and providing the most advanced solutions available for the Cargo Handling market.
